"Leonardo da Vinci would have felt in heaven if he would have visited Teylers Museum!"⠀ ⠀ What an honor! Last night we received a special guest: Walter Isaacson, biographer of 'Leonardo da Vinci'.⠀ In the run-up to our extraordinary exhibition this fall, he talked to Alexander Reeuwijk about homo universalis Leonardo da Vinci.⠀ ⠀ Leonardo da Vinci is seen as the most creative genius ever. In addition to his world-famous work as a painter, he was also an inventor, writer, architect, sculptor, composer, anatomist, philosopher, physicist, chemist and engineer. Walter Isaacson wrote a beautiful biography based on new discoveries and thousands of pages of Da Vinci's notebooks. He shows that Da Vinci's genius was based on skills such as his insatiable curiosity, careful observation and imagination.⠀ ⠀ Walter Isaacson also wrote biographies about, among others, Steve Jobs, Einstein and Benjamin Franklin. He is CEO of the Aspen Institute and was chairman of CNN and chief editor of Time Magazine.⠀ ⠀ 'An evening with Leonardo da Vinci' was organized in collaboration with Uitgeverij Unieboek | Het Spectrum, and Athenaeum Boekhandel Haarlem. Alexander Reeuwijk is a writer and the presenter of our monthly book program 'Teylers Ontmoet'.⠀ ⠀ ?: Bibi Veth⠀ ⠀ #walterisaacson #leonardodavinci #davinci #biography #isaacson #teylers #teylersmuseum #genius #museumevent
